Listening to LFTLC on KRXA540

As a frequent vistor to to the live blog, I know one of the biggest problems for people was listening to the stream if they were not listening on their conventional radio. The flash player used was tricky and took a certain setup for it to work. Since the move over to KRXA 540, there's a lot more choice on how to listen to LFTLC. You can choose your stream here. The Winamp link is a .PLS file that can be played in almost any player, including iTunes, MediaMonkey, or my favorite (open source, otherwise known as FREE) client called VLC. The Windows Media Player link will work in Windows Media Player (which is usually installed by default on most Windows based PCs) and VLC. Real Player is a proprietary player that isn't in much use anymore, but you can find it here. If you have a computer that runs Mac OS X, your default media player is quicktime. If you want it but don't have it, you can get that here.

I used the IHeartRadio application on my blackberry. But  KRXA isn't a Clear Channel owned station, so it isn't on IHeartRadio. Luckily, there's an application (it's not free, but is low cost and has a free trail) called WunderRadio. It not only works on the Blackberry, but on iPhones/iPods and Windows Mobile phones as well! You can download it here. You'll find KRXA under browse talk>>Progressive>>KRXA. If you're a geek like me, you can listen via VLC4iphone, which is for jailbroken iPhones. You can find it via the Cydia apps store.

There are MANY ways to listen now! If you have any problems, don't hesistate to ask me questions about it on the live blog or via IM (I'm mzmartipants on AIM and Yahoo, and marti [dot] abernathey [at] gmail [dot] com on Gtalk and MSN). I love to help!

A primer on Internet audio players

Martha this is a great tour through the Internet audio options. I knew KRXA had a more effective stream setup, but this clarifies things immensely. Thank you.
